Since I am neither a fan of Shahrukh nor Aamir, I can answer this question unbiasedly. Few actors can emulate Aamir’s natural ability to disappear in a role like Patrick Wilson, Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Uttam Kumar, Manoj Bajpayee, Pankaj Tripathi, etc. However, in terms of versatility and adaptability, he is miles ahead of Shahrukh.
In 3 idiots, he looked believable as a college student (despite being in his late forties), and in Dangal, he looked believable as a father.
Whenever Shah Rukh Khan appears on screen, it is evident that he is acting like someone else.
Acting is always in his nature (mostly overacting). Like sound Visual Effects, a good actor is not noticeable in their role. In a movie, you don’t see the actor; you see the character he is portraying. The results are likely to be the same for anyone with an unbiased view of this topic.
